The RCHS Volleyball team is excited to host the 2023 Summer Volleyball Camp for K-8th graders. Camp will be hosted in both gymnasiums at the high school on Tuesday, May 23rd through May 25th. See the attached flyer for more information.

The competition consisted of Army Physical Fitness Events (Pushups, Curlups, 1 mile run), Rope Bridge Building, Litter Carry, and a 5K run. Competing Raiders Included: Abigail Atwood, Evelyn Bogard, Johnathon Dryden, Mary Jones, Caden Julian, Aaron Dean, Breanna Brown, Miles Coats, Trevor Waters, and Jotham Cox. The Tiger Battalion won 5 of the 6 events – placing 2nd in the litter carry winning the 1st Place Trophy.  Great Job Tigers!   The Olney FFA Poultry Team placed 1st in the State last Friday! The team consisted of Trenton Payne, Owen Kocher, Kylie Kocher, Cody Fulk, and Chase Ackman, with Trenton placing 1st in the State! This team will now advance to the National competition in October.

BAND Second Annual Sliva Dinner & Concert on SUN 3/26 from 11 to 1 p.m. at the Olney V.F.W. Homemade chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, beverages, and desserts will be served - Adults - $10; Children 4 & Under - $5. Music will be provided by the Honors Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band. All proceeds support the RCHS Music Department. RCHS AUTHOR VISIT by Mark H. Parsons on WED 3/29. Each grade will get a chance to listen to him speak. His book The 9:09 Project is available for checkout in the RCHS Library. As an added bonus, he and Wendelin Van Draanen (author of the 2023 One Book, One Community book Wild Bird) will give a joint presentation on TUES 3/28 night in RCPAC 7 p.m.
LIFEGUARD APPLICATIONS accepted through the City of Olney for the Musgrove Aquatic Center by 3/31. Lifeguard (re)certification classes in mid-May. Applicants age 16 by 5/27. Pick up at City Hall on Whittle Ave. Any questions along with completed applications can be given to Mr. Powell (Rm #004) FBLA is hosting an Egg Coloring and Cookie Decorating social event for all members TUE 3/21 @  6:30-8 pm in the student commons. Snacks and drinks will be provided. JUNIOR & SENIOR PROM will be on fri 5/5. If you plan to bring an RCHS Sophomore or Freshman they must be signed up on the list in the Main Office. If you are bringing an outside guest you will need a guest form filled out.  SURVEYOR CAMP Vincennes University has begun advertising their Surveying Summer Camp for the end of May.  If you are interested in a fantastic future career as a Surveyor, pick up more information on the counter in the front office.
