
GRIT Award winners for 1/15-1/21 are: Cheerleading - Aylah Voyles, Girls Basketball - Kaiya Seessengood, Wrestling - Carson Bissey, and Boys Basketball - Mason Brown. The GRIT Award is awarded to an athlete that demonstrates hustle, teamwork, and dedication. This award isn't necessarily always the highest scorer or top performer, but one that shows drive and passion to make the team better!


OTN Athletics offers opportunities for fans to cheer on their favorite Tigers this week. Monday's contests between Lady Tiger Basketball and Tiger F/S Basketball against Lawrenceville have been cancelled due to poor weather conditions. On Tuesday, Lady Tiger Basketball head to Vincennes Lincoln with tipoff at 5pm CST. Olney Tiger Wrestling will be on the road to Shelbyville and will take to the mats at 6pm. Tiger Basketball will continue in the LIC Tourney while hitting the court at 6pm in Newton. Thursday evening, Tiger F/S Basketball will host Newton at 6pm. Tiger Basketball will still be in LIC Tourney play on Friday. Continue to check back for game time updates through the week. On Saturday, Lady Tiger Basketball will host Edwards County at home with game time at 1pm. Tiger Wrestling is on the road to Robinson with mat times beginning at 9am. And Tiger Cheerleading heads to Mt. Vernon for sectional competition. Best of luck to these athletes as they represent OTN!

Lady Tiger Basketball will face Paris tonight - January 18 - at 6pm in Lawrenceville. This contest will determine the third place finisher in the LIC Tournament. Admission for adults is $5 and $3 for students. Come on out and cheer on the Lady Tigers!

Thursday, January 18 RCHS Scholar Bowl will host Lawrenceville and Paris. Competition will begin at 5pm in the RCHS Science Wing. Come on out and support these OTN students!

The RCHS Marching Band Color Guard performed during halftime of the boys varsity game. OTN comes out for one another! Great work, Color Guard!


Tiger Basketball is heading into tournament play Saturday, January 20. The #1 seeded Tigers will go head-to-head with the #8 seeded Paris Tigers in the first round of play at the 2024 Little Illini Conference Tournament. The Tigers will take to the court at 1pm. The tournament will be held at Newton High School. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Make the trip north to Newton and cheer on the Olney Tigers!


This week is chocked full of potential to see Olney Tiger Athletics in action. Lady Tiger Basketball will continue with LIC Tournament play until elimination. Check back for updates regarding their game times through the week. Monday evening Tiger F/S Basketball is on the road to Cumberland with a 6:15pm start time. Tiger Basketball will host Casey-Westfield on Tuesday night with the JV game starting at 6pm and varsity at 7:30pm. Tiger Wrestling will host the Paris Tigers on Wednesday at 6pm in RHG. Thursday evening Tiger F/S Basketball will hit the court at home in Ron Herrin Gymnasium against the Flora Wolves at 6:15pm. Olney Tiger Wrestling will be hitting the mats while hosting the Olney Duals on Saturday, beginning at 9am in RHG. Also, #1 seeded Tiger Varsity Basketball begins LIC Tournament play in Newton with a game against #8 seeded Paris at 1pm. Tiger Cheerleading is also in competition that day at the Carterville Invite. Mrs. West's and Mrs. Kerr's Culinary I and Culinary II classes held a special competition with important visitors recently. The classes held a Chopped competition using MREs as the ingredients. Their dishes were then judged by members of the US Army. The students really seemed to enjoy the task and many of their dishes came out quite well!









Due to potentially hazardous weather, Friday's Tiger Basketball contest at Mt. Carmel has changed times. The JV game will start at 5pm with the Varsity game immediately following.


Olney Duals are taking place Saturday, January 20 in Ron Herrin Gymnasium at 9am. The FCS Shirt Shop is taking pre-orders for tournament shirts. If you pre-order, for only $5 extra you can get your name and weight class added. If you wait until the day of the duals, it will be $5 extra for weight class only - no names will be added. Use the posted QR code or print the order form and return to the RCHS Main Office if you are interested. Please reach out to Mrs. West if you have any questions.




The 2024 Illinois State Scholars were introduced prior to the varsity basketball game against Fairfield. OTN is proud of these students and their academic achievements over the last four years!


Freshman-Sophomore Tiger Basketball Coach Josh Brown had some fans at the game recently! Complete with cutouts of Coach, future Tigers from RCES and SJS cheer on the team!
