Lady Tiger Track at the Newton Invite today - Monday, April 29 - has been cancelled due to the weather.
SRO Ameter, with the assistance of outside organizations, will be presenting a Mock Car Crash to RCHS students on Friday, May 3 (weather permitting). Members of Olney Police & Fire Departments, Richland County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police, EMS, and helicopter services will show the dangers and results of drunk driving. Additionally, Mrs. VanDyke will be discussing GDLs (graduated driver's license) and what that means for students. If parents wish for their child not to participate, opt-out forms will be available in the high school main office.

• Lady Tiger JV/Varsity Softball at Marshall - Rescheduled for Thursday, May 2nd
• Tiger Varsity Baseball at Marshall - Rescheduled for Tuesday, May 7th
With these changes, this means that Lady Tiger Softball at North Knox on Thursday, May 2 has been cancelled, as well as Tiger Baseball at Harrisburg on May 7. Please check back for more updates.
With the exception of Friday due to prom, OTN has lots of events on the road this week. They do offer fans a few opportunities to catch some home matchups. Please check back often for scheduling changes.
GRIT Award winners for 4/23 - 4/29 are: Carter Blank - Boys Track, Gavyn Cothern - Boys Track, Aiden McDowell - Bass Fishing, Aaron Klingler - Boys Tennis, Emma Bower - Girls Soccer, Nora Stevens - Softball, and Karlee Piercefield - Girls Track. The GRIT Award is awarded to an athlete that demonstrates hustle, teamwork, and dedication. This award isn't necessarily always the highest scorer or top performer, but one that shows drive and passion to make the team better!
RCHS seniors James Benton, Dakota Melchi, Athena Spieth, and Sydney Zuber are recipients of OCC Theater Scholarships! Each will receive a full tuition waiver. These students have been great assets to RCHS's Theater Department over the years both on stage and behind-the-scenes. Congratulations from your OTN family!
On Friday, the RCHS Student Council hosted Freshman Orientation for RCMS and St. Joe 8th graders. The soon-to-be freshmen started their morning with introductions from administrators, Student Services staff, and Student Council members. Then they took tours of the building, learned about One Tiger Nation, and heard from current students about how to be successful and make the most out of their time in high school. We look forward to welcoming the Class of 2028 in August!
AD Mrs. VanDyke gifted the SESE class these great Richland County Tigers shirts and the class wore them today. The SESE class has had a great week while engaging with RCHS students as the school celebrated Disability Awareness Week!
Lady Tiger Softball's tournament tomorrow at Alton has been cancelled due to the rain all day today and looking ahead at the extended forecast. There is no makeup for this tournament.
Due to the tournament being restructured because of the incoming weather, Tiger Tennis will not be competing at the Belleville Invite on Friday, April 26 or Saturday, April 27.

RCHS had many students participate in the 2024 Olney Arts Council Show, which was held last week at Best Western. OTN students had some wonderful placings in the competition. Their work is currently on display outside the RCPAC. Congratulations students on all your hard work and successes!
